Dermal fillers are injectable gels — most commonly hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance your body produces naturally — that add volume beneath the skin to restore fullness, contour features, and smooth lines that exist even at rest.
Unlike Botox, which relaxes muscles, fillers physically occupy space. They plump lips, lift cheeks, define jawlines, soften under-eye hollows, and restore the volume your face has lost over time. Results are visible immediately and can be refined over the following 2–3 weeks as swelling settles.
The key advantage of HA fillers: they're fully reversible. If you don't love the result — or if migration occurs — the filler can be dissolved instantly with hyaluronidase enzyme. This safety net is why Aesthoria exclusively uses hyaluronic acid fillers.

The Process
What to expect on
treatment day
Layanna examines your face in motion and at rest, maps the areas of volume loss, and explains exactly what she'd place, where, and why — including what she wouldn't recommend.
Topical numbing cream is applied and left to take effect for 15–20 minutes. The fillers themselves also contain lidocaine for additional comfort throughout treatment.
Using a fine needle or cannula (depending on the area), Layanna places filler precisely where mapped. She works in small increments, checking symmetry constantly — the MUA training at work.
Results are visible immediately. Some swelling is normal for 2–5 days (lips especially). The final, settled result is visible at 2–3 weeks. Results last 6–18 months depending on the area.
Before your treatment
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin for proper assessment and injection planning
- Avoid NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Advil), fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John's Wort, and high-dose vitamin E for one week before — these increase bruising risk
- Discontinue Retin-A, tretinoin, and retinoids for 3 days before treatment
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment
- If bruise-prone, consider Arnica tablets starting 1 day before (consult your provider first)
- Avoid dental appointments 2 weeks before and after filler treatment
- Not eligible if pregnant or nursing
After your treatment
- Avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 12 hours to reduce infection risk
- Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for 48 hours unless instructed by Layanna
- Stay upright for 4 hours — avoid lying flat or bending forward
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and extreme heat for 48 hours
- Apply ice gently if swelling is uncomfortable (wrap in cloth — never directly on skin)
- Swelling in the lips is normal for 2–5 days — don't judge your results until day 14
- Contact us immediately if you experience unusual pain, whitening of skin, or vision changes
